The holidays have arrived in Lake County!
Not only do we love this time of year, but we love seeing all of the gorgeous lights and decorations around town. Whether you're just visiting or have lived here for your entire life, there are a few holiday displays that you must see to get you in the holiday spirit!
1. Grayslake Heritage District
Start your tour by driving through the downtown on Center Street. From there, you can drift down the side streets through the older segments of town.
The view is especially beautiful combining the lights with the Victorian architecture.
2. Golf Road and Dymond Road, Libertyville
Locals find this neighborhood's display unique. There are thousands of illuminated milk cartons.
And although milk cartons doesn't necessarily sound pleasing, the effect from the sheer number of them is breathtaking.
3. Manchester Lane, Port Barrington
The Neighborhood is on the corner of Rawson Bridge Road and Roberts Road. Not only does this neighborhood orchestrate a musical Christmas Light Show, they also help others in need. If you look closely, there are blue coolers set outside. You can bring canned food donations for the local food pantry.
4. Christmas Lights on Poplar, Fox Lake
39 Popular, Fox LakeTune your radio to 91.3 FM to get the full Christmas lights experience. Shows are every hour on the hour from 5:00 p.m. till 10:00 p.m.
5. Germann Lights4968 Prairie Oak Rd, Gurnee
One house, 15,000 lights, a half-mile of extension cords and four-light control boxes makes up this display. Be sure to tune your radio to 87.9 FM to listen to the music that the lights are synchronized to. The display begins on December 1.
6. Santa’s Rock ‘n’ Lights
Lake County Fairgrounds, GrayslakeLights are synchronized to music and animated. Pricing is based on that date and number of people in your car.
